The person in charge in the company is the person whose job places him in a situation of pre-eminence over other employees of the company itself, so as to be able to give them orders, instructions or directives on the work to be carried out. The person in charge supports the employer, carrying out control work and translating his decisions into action, checking that the employees adapt their behavior to the technical/organizational decisions made.
The person in charge is the operational guarantor of workplace safety by law, regardless of the delegation and spending power that the employer or manager may assign to him, he is responsible for ensuring that work activities are carried out according to the regulations. .
The responsible course includes training for workers and is integrated with special training. Legislative Decree 81/08 provides a training course dedicated to the person in charge. The Agreement of the State-Regions Conference of 12/21/2011 detailed the duration and contents of the course.
The responsible course has a duration of 8 hours and expires every five years. To update training it is necessary to attend the Refresher Course which lasts 6 hours.
Theoretical tests will be carried out to evaluate the knowledge acquired during the relevant course. A certificate of participation/training will be issued to those who successfully pass them.

- Method of exercising the function of monitoring compliance by workers with legal and company provisions regarding health and safety at work, and use of the collective and individual means of protection made available to them.
