The RSPP Employer course allows employers of companies who want to personally fill the role of Prevention and Protection Service Manager to acquire the health and safety skills essential for the protection of workers.

The cases in which the direct performance by the Employer of the Risk Prevention and Protection tasks is permitted, as indicated in Annex II of Legislative Decree 81/08, are the following:

  1. Artisan and industrial companies (1) – up to 30 workers
  2. Agricultural and livestock farms – up to 30 workers
  3. Fishing companies – up to 20 workers
    Other companies – up to 200 workers

(1) Excluding industrial companies referred to in art. 1 of the Decree of the President of the Republic of 17 May 1988, n.175, and subsequent amendments, subject to the obligation of declaration or notification pursuant to articles 4 and 6 of the Decree itself, thermoelectric power plants, nuclear plants and laboratories, mining companies and other mining activities, companies for the manufacture and separate storage of explosives, powders and ammunition, both public and private hospitalization and treatment facilities.

Legislative Decree 81/08 provides a training course dedicated to RSPP Employers, the duration and contents of which are detailed in the State-Regions Conference Agreement of 12/21/2011. The training courses are structured according to the company’s risk classification and have different durations: 16 hours low risk, 32 hours medium risk, 48 hours high risk.

Theoretical tests will be carried out to evaluate the knowledge acquired during the RSPP Employer course. A certificate of participation/training will be issued to those who successfully pass them.

eLearning training: as per the indications of the State-Regions Agreement of 21 December 2011, it is possible to carry out the first 2 modules of the RSPP Employer course (Regulatory-Legal and Management), via eLearning training methods.     Module 1: Regulatory – legal
    • The legislative system regarding worker safety
    • Civil and criminal liability and insurance protection
    • The “administrative responsibility of legal persons, companies and associations, even without legal responsibility” pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 231/2001, and subsequent amendments.
    • The institutional system of prevention
    • The subjects of the company prevention system according to Legislative Decree 81/08: tasks, obligations, responsibilities

    • The main risk factors and the related technical, organizational and procedural prevention and protection measures
    • The risk of work-related stress
    • Risks linked to gender, age and origin from other countries
    • Personal protective equipment
    • Health surveillance

    Module 4: Relational – training and consultation of workers
    • Information, education and training Communication techniques
    • The system of corporate relations and communication in the company
    • Consultation and participation of workers’ representatives for safety
    • Nature, functions and methods of appointment or election of workers’ safety representatives

    Type of training: classroom course – the online RSPP Employer course is also available (usable for Regulatory Module 1 and Management Module 2)

    Locations: at our headquarters in Lecce or at home

    Training certificate: certificate valid throughout Italy, for the purposes of the legislation in question

    Requirements: understanding of the Italian language

    Update: every 5 years, Employer RSPP update (low risk – duration 6 hours; medium risk – duration 10 hours; high risk – duration 14 hours)
